"Our democracy" is merely a poor stand-in for "our oligarchy," which is really the thing they are trying to save and grow, with inextricable ties to the DeepState.
Federalism lost its strength with the 1913 ratification of the 17th Amendment (which must be repealed).
We often hear about Separation of Powers: Exec, Legislative, Judicial. That is a Horizontal separation of powers. But there is also a Vertical Separation of Powers: Federal, State, Community, Individual/Family. BOTH are essential. BOTH are under attack.
