The journalists Bernard and Marvin Kalb traveled with then Sec. of State Henry Kissinger in the 1970s. They say that Secretary Kissinger was returning to America on a late night flight from the Vietnam Paris Peace Talks and was wondering how the North Vietnamese could be so uncivilized not wanting peace when the people of North Vietnam were undergoing relentless bombing at the time to pressure them to make a peace agreement. They only wasted time arguing who sat where at the peace table. Then it occured to Kissenger that the North Vietnamese didn't want peace, they wanted victory.
