It's come to this? After Afghanistan? The U.S. Army is shamelessly warning all and sundry that wild monkeys could “easily” break into its army base

As someone who was at one time stationed in Japan (Yokota AB, Tokyo), I'd like to add my 2¢. I can completely understand why the warning was put out for Camp Zama. The monkeys in question are Japanese Macaques. They are not giants (males average just under 24" tall) but neither are they tiny. One source I found online described them thusly, "They're smart, they are generally pretty adept with their hands, most can become extremely aggressive or territorial when they're sexually mature, they are frequently stronger, pound for pound, than a human,"

These creatures could pose a significant risk to personnel stationed/living at Camp Zama. While I understand the author's displeasure with the current set of Pentagon brass, I do not understand the level of snark a d the use of an otherwise innocuous notice to folks living/working at Camp Zama. I expect biting criticism and even satire at AT. Snark such as this author has spewed is ill fitting.

Hmm, we too have wild ‘monkeys’ or ‘zombies’ in our midst. Movies have prepared our hearts and minds for the time (that’s quickly approaching) when shooting them in the head will be our duty…and only real choice. Of course, we call them Democrats when we’re being kind.
